NARTS Membership Levels
NARTS MEMBERSHIP TYPES
Before You Apply
NARTS is here to support the people behind resale and thrift businesses. Membership is held by the individual owner or designated representative, not the store itself, because it is the people leading the business who shape the strength of our community. Store owners, future owners, team members, and industry partners all play an important role in strengthening the secondhand space, and our membership structure is designed to make sure everyone feels supported, connected, and valued.
Our goal is to create a professional, trustworthy, and collaborative space where members can learn, grow, and share what works. To do that well, all membership applications are reviewed to ensure they align with our mission and the type of community we are building together.
A one-time $25 application fee is submitted with your application to cover processing and review. If your application is approved, your annual membership dues will be applied based on the membership category you select. If membership is not approved, the application fee is non-refundable.
If you want to be part of an organization that does resale with care, integrity and intention, you are in the right place.
Membership Levels
Primary Membership
Primary Membership is designed for resale and thrift store owners or lead decision makers who are actively operating a consumer-facing resale business. This membership gives your business a voice within NARTS and a seat at the table as the industry continues to evolve.
Each store or related group of stores designates one Primary Member to serve as the voting representative. Primary Members help shape the direction of the Association while gaining full access to education, resources, events, and member only tools.
Primary Members are voting members | Initial application: $160 dues + $25 application fee = $185 | Recurring annual dues are $160
Associate Membership
Associate Membership is for team members who work alongside a Primary Member and want professional development, connection, and industry knowledge to support their role within the business.
A Primary Member must be active and in good standing before Associate Members can be added. Associate Membership is non-voting, but it opens the door to learning, engagement, and being part of the larger resale community.
Associate Members are non-voting members.
Annual dues are $50.
Provisional Membership
Provisional Membership is a great fit for future store owners who are actively planning to open a resale or thrift store within the next year. This membership allows you to start learning, building relationships, and accessing resources before your doors officially open.
When your store is open for business, your Provisional Membership can be converted to a Primary Membership at no additional cost, and your store will be added to the NARTS online store directory. Provisional Membership is non-voting and may be held for a limited time with approval.
Provisional Members are non-voting members | Initial application: $160 dues + $25 application fee = $185 | Recurring annual dues are $160.
Partner Membership
Partner Membership is designed for vendors, service providers, and solution partners who support the resale and thrift industry. These are the businesses that help our members run stronger stores through products, services, education, and expertise.
Partners are more than advertisers. They are collaborators who want to build real relationships with NARTS members, share knowledge, and be part of a community built on trust and mutual respect. This membership offers opportunities for visibility, connection, and engagement with store owners in meaningful ways.
Partner memberships are non-voting and are reviewed to ensure alignment with the needs and values of NARTS members. Membership levels, opportunities, and pricing are outlined in the Partner section of the website.
Partner Members are non-voting members | Initial application: $200 dues + $25 application fee = $225 | Recurring annual dues are $200.
