2026 NARTS Fall Seminar Registration Policies

Event Dates

The 2026 DISCOVER Fall Seminar will be held Sunday, October 11, and Monday, October 12, 2026.  

Sunday will feature classroom education designed specifically for resale, consignment, and thrift store professionals.

Monday will take attendees into area resale businesses for a guided resale shop bus tour. Transportation for the official tour will be provided from the designated event hotel.

NARTS is also considering an optional welcome reception for registered attendees on Saturday, October 10. Additional information will be provided if the reception is confirmed.

Registration Eligibility and Participation

  • The NARTS Fall Seminar is open to individuals and businesses involved in the resale, consignment, and thrift industry. This may include store owners, managers, employees, industry professionals, speakers, sponsors, vendors, and others who support or serve the resale community.
  • Registration rates may vary according to NARTS membership status, business type, or participation category. Registrants must qualify for the registration category and rate selected.
  • All attendees are required to follow the NARTS Code of Conduct. NARTS members also remain subject to the NARTS Code of Ethics throughout the event.
  • NARTS may refuse or cancel a registration because of failure to pay, inaccurate registration information, failure to meet eligibility requirements, an unresolved participation restriction, a safety concern, or conduct that could materially disrupt or harm the event. An attendee removed because of a policy or conduct violation will not receive a refund.

Age Requirement

  • NARTS conferences, seminars, and related events are professional business gatherings intended for adult participants. Attendance at official Fall Seminar activities is limited to individuals who are at least 18 years old.
  • Infants and children may not attend educational sessions, the Resale Shop Bus Tour, meals, networking activities, or other official NARTS functions. Attendees traveling with anyone under 18 must independently arrange for childcare or supervision outside the event.

Registration and Payment

  • Registration isn’t complete until NARTS has received the required registration information and payment.
  • After registration and payment are completed, the registrant will receive a confirmation email. Registrants should review the confirmation and notify the NARTS office promptly if any information is incorrect.
  • Registration may close when the event or any portion of the event reaches capacity. Participation in activities with limited seating or transportation is subject to availability.
  • Event credentials and materials will be provided at event check in unless otherwise announced by NARTS.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

  • Cancellations received by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time on September 10, 2026, will receive a refund of the registration fees paid, less a $50 administrative fee.
  • Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing by email to the NARTS office at angie@narts.org.
  • Cancellations received after September 10, 2026, are nonrefundable because NARTS will have made financial commitments based on the number of registered attendees.
  • Registrants who don’t attend and don’t submit a cancellation request by the deadline will be considered no shows and won’t be eligible for a refund.
  • Refunds apply only to fees paid directly to NARTS. NARTS isn’t responsible for hotel reservations, airfare, transportation, or other personal expenses.

Registration Substitutions

  • If a registered attendee can’t attend, the registration may be transferred to another eligible person from the same business before the event. The registrant must notify the NARTS office so that registration records, credentials, meal counts, and bus assignments can be updated.
  • A substitution involving someone outside the originally registered business requires prior approval from NARTS.
  • The substitute must qualify for the original registration category and rate. If the substitute doesn’t qualify, the applicable difference in registration fees must be paid before the substitution is completed.
  • NARTS may deny a late substitution if credentials, transportation assignments, meal guarantees, or other event arrangements can’t reasonably be changed.
  • NARTS will make reasonable efforts to accommodate dietary needs previously submitted for the original registrant but cannot guarantee that meal selections, dietary restrictions, or food allergy requests can be accommodated for a substitute.

Event Changes

  • NARTS may adjust the schedule, speakers, session topics, host stores, transportation arrangements, meals, or other event activities when necessary because of availability, operational needs, safety concerns, or circumstances beyond NARTS’ control.
  • A reasonable change to the schedule, speaker lineup, session content, tour route, host store lineup, or other event activity doesn’t constitute grounds for a refund.

Event Cancellation and Circumstances Beyond NARTS’ Control

  • If circumstances beyond NARTS’ reasonable control prevent the event from proceeding as planned, NARTS may reschedule, relocate, modify, or cancel all or part of the event. Such circumstances may include severe weather, acts of nature, public health concerns, government restrictions, labor disputes, transportation interruptions, venue closures, civil disturbances, or other emergencies.
  • NARTS will determine whether affected registration fees will be transferred to a rescheduled event, credited toward a future event, or refunded. That determination will be based on the circumstances and the financial obligations NARTS has already incurred.
  • NARTS isn’t responsible for airfare, hotel reservations, transportation expenses, lost wages, or other personal or business costs resulting from an event change or cancellation.

Travel and Lodging Responsibility

  • Attendees are responsible for arranging and managing their own transportation and lodging.
  • NARTS isn’t responsible for airline changes, missed transportation, hotel policies, room cancellation charges, rental car expenses, or other travel related costs.
  • Attendees are responsible for reviewing and complying with the hotel’s reservation, cancellation, payment, parking, and property policies.

Resale Shop Bus Tour Participation

  • Participation in the Resale Shop Bus Tour and other offsite activities is voluntary.
  • Attendees are responsible for determining whether they can safely participate in activities that may involve boarding and exiting buses, walking through stores, standing for extended periods, navigating steps or uneven surfaces, and moving between multiple locations.
  • Attendees must follow the schedule and instructions provided by NARTS, the transportation provider, and each host store. NARTS may change the tour schedule, route, transportation arrangements, or host store lineup when necessary.
  • Attendees who miss a scheduled departure are responsible for arranging and paying for their own transportation. The bus and other attendees won’t be required to wait for someone who is late.

Accessibility and Accommodation Requests

  • NARTS will make reasonable efforts to accommodate attendees with accessibility needs.
  • Accommodation requests should be submitted to the NARTS office as early as possible. Some accommodations may depend on the capabilities of the hotel, transportation provider, host stores, or other third parties and can’t be guaranteed if requested close to the event.

Dietary Requests and Food Allergies

  • Attendees should provide dietary restrictions or food allergy information during registration or notify the NARTS office as early as possible.
  • NARTS will communicate timely requests to the venue or food provider but can’t guarantee that every dietary request can be fulfilled. NARTS also can’t guarantee that food preparation areas will be free from allergens or cross contact.
  • Attendees with serious food allergies remain responsible for determining whether food served at the event is appropriate for them.

Health, Safety, and Smoking

  • Attendees must follow all health, safety, security, transportation, and venue requirements in effect during the event.
  • All official NARTS event functions are smoke free. Attendees must also follow the smoking policies established by the hotel, host stores, transportation provider, and other event locations.
  • An attendee who creates a safety risk or refuses to follow applicable safety requirements may be removed from the event without a refund.

Professional Conduct and Community Standards

  • NARTS events are intended to provide a professional, respectful, and productive environment for education, conversation, and networking.
  • Harassment, intimidation, discrimination, threats, abusive conduct, persistent disruption, or other behavior that interferes with the event or the participation of others won’t be tolerated.
  • NARTS may take reasonable action in response to inappropriate conduct, including providing a warning, restricting participation in an activity, removing the attendee from the event, or referring the matter for further review under an applicable NARTS policy. An attendee removed because of a conduct violation won’t receive a refund.

Photography, Video, and Media Notice

  • NARTS may photograph, video record, audio record, or livestream portions of the Fall Seminar for promotional, educational, archival, and post event purposes.
  • By attending, participants acknowledge that their image, voice, or likeness may appear in photographs, recordings, livestreams, educational resources, marketing materials, the NARTS website, social media, association publications, or other NARTS communications.
  • Attendees may take casual photographs in permitted event areas unless instructed otherwise. Attendees may not audio record, video record, livestream, reproduce, or distribute educational sessions, presentations, event activities, or copyrighted materials without prior written authorization from NARTS.
  • Other attendees may take photographs or post event related content on personal websites or social media platforms outside NARTS’ control. Anyone with concerns about being photographed should notify NARTS staff at event check in. NARTS will make reasonable efforts to accommodate the request but can’t guarantee that an attendee won’t appear in every photograph or recording.

Educational Materials and Intellectual Property

  • Presentations, handouts, recordings, worksheets, and other educational materials provided during the Fall Seminar may be protected by copyright or other intellectual property rights.
  • Attendees may use these materials for their own personal or internal business education unless otherwise stated. Materials may not be copied, sold, published, shared publicly, used to conduct another training program, or distributed outside the attendee’s business without permission from the content owner.

Attendee Information and Privacy

  • NARTS will use registration information to administer the event, process payments, communicate with attendees, prepare credentials, coordinate meals and transportation, and meet applicable operational or legal requirements.
  • By registering, attendees agree to receive communications necessary for the administration of the Fall Seminar.
  • NARTS may send attendees relevant information on behalf of approved sponsors or association partners. NARTS won’t provide an attendee’s personal contact information directly to a sponsor, vendor, or partner unless the attendee has consented or the disclosure is otherwise permitted by the NARTS Privacy Policy.

Conflicting and Unauthorized Activities

  • Attendees, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, vendors, and other participants may not organize, promote, or conduct an unauthorized meeting, tour, sales presentation, or other activity directed to NARTS attendees during scheduled Fall Seminar programming.
  • NARTS may require an unauthorized or conflicting activity to stop and may revoke event participation privileges for noncompliance.

Personal Property and Assumption of Responsibility

  • Attendees are responsible for their own personal property, equipment, purchases, and belongings during the event. NARTS isn’t responsible for items that are lost, stolen, damaged, or left behind at the hotel, on transportation, at a host store, or at another event location.
  • Attendees accept the ordinary risks associated with travel, transportation, walking tours, offsite activities, and participation in a professional event.

Policy Updates

  • NARTS may make reasonable updates to event procedures, safety requirements, and operational guidelines when necessary.
  • Material changes affecting registration fees, cancellation rights, or refund eligibility won’t be applied retroactively without notice to affected registrants.

Registration Acknowledgment

To complete your registration for the DISCOVER Fall Seminar, you must acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to the event policies provided on this registration form.
